Software Development and Systems Management

KEVRIC's software developers have designed full-featured, Windows-based solutions for a variety of clients. KEVRIC provides full documentation support, including user training manuals, and embedded on-line help. For the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), KEVRIC developed a chemical inventory tracking database system, using MS Visual Basic, MS Access, and MS Foxpro. This system assists the Environmental Compliance Officer with compiling EPA-related reportable quantities of hazardous chemicals that are used within the USDA research laboratories. KEVRIC also developed a system to track biological pathogens used during research. KEVRIC provided hands-on training classes to the users as well as maintaining a telephone help desk for both inventory programs.

Following the USDA experience, KEVRIC developed an inventory tracking system for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. This program, which also uses Visual Basic and Access, allows the Environmental Division to track hazardous chemical quantities used during the process of manufacturing currency.

KEVRIC has developed several software solutions for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), State and Local Support Division, to assist them in developing emergency response plans and processes. These programs helped analyze national data concerning the emergency operations centers and response efforts at the State and local level. Senior management at FEMA were able to compile the aggregate data into usable reports.

KEVRIC's systems professionals are supporting several clients with Local Area Network and on-site troubleshooting. For FEMA, KEVRIC manages the Computer Training Laboratories for its National Emergency Training Center. Our personnel manage and operate these four state-of-the-art training facilities, which contain over 150 stations running Windows on a Novell network. KEVRIC provides all of the infrastructure support, including cabling, setup, and relocation of computers; software troubleshooting; and, as required, instruction for trainers. KEVRIC also provides on-site PC software and hardware troubleshooting for the USDA. This involves reloading software, installing drivers and peripherals, network troubleshooting, and performance tuning processing.
